 The Vermont VT flag, designed by Robert Temple, consists of a field of solid blue with the state coat of arms in the center. On the shield is a tall pine tree, a cow, sheaves of wheat and the Green Mountains in the distance. Before it became official, the flag was carried by Vermont soldiers in the Civil War and later wars. Vermont State Flag Adopted: 1923
